| Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org Laverda is an Italian manufacturer of Combine harvesters and one-time a manufacturer of high performance motorcycles. The agricultural equipment brand is famous for quality, simplicity, and efficiency; while the motorcycles in their day gained a reputation for being robust and innovative.
The Laverda brand was absorbed by Piaggio, when in 2004, Piaggio absorbed Aprilia. Since, Piaggio has elected to quietly close all activities related to the Laverda brand, and has publicly stated that they would be willing to sell the rights to the brand if an investor should appear. Today, despite a parking website by Piaggio at Laverda.com, the brand is no longer in use.

| The Laverda Twins and Triples Bible http://inter-bike.co.uk Even Ian Falloon who has built himself an excellent reputation as a motorcycle historian cannot really do justice to a firm’s history in the space of one reasonably priced book. Therefore, he has started profiling some of the most significant models from some factories, thus enabling him to go into depth and produce a ‘bible’ for those enthusiasts of that particular make and model.

| Laverda Models Listed Below http://www.ukbike.com I'm never sure if this bike was ever suited to British owners. The logbook on mine tells you something: 11 owners in 11 years and then it got me. When it works it's beautiful; when not it's hell. So what is it? Laverda was a small firm making 750 twins in the early 70s when they decided to add a third cylinder and make it a 1000. Then, to take on Harleys, they enlarged it to what they cheekily called 1200 (actually 1116cc).

| Slater Bros http://www.slaterlaverda.com Slater Laverda was established in 1970 when the Slater brothers Richard and Roger became the Laverda importer for the UK. During the early 1970's the sales of Laverda 750 motorcycles had risen to fifty a year, prior to the launch of the 3C in late 1973.
After the launch of the first Laverda triple, the 3C sales throughout the 1970's exceeded 500 per year and the LAVERDA LEGEND the JOTA was created. The Jota became the fastest production bike in the world. In 1980 Roger Slater moved first to Canada and then to America where he became the importer for Laverda.
